September 4, 2013 – Nursing Consulting Partners, LLC (NCP) is proud to announce that a new consultant, Maricarmen Luhrsen, MSN, RN, NE-BC has joined their team. Maricarmen has more than 15 years of nursing experience in the acute care setting and has spent the past 7 years in various leadership roles. She successfully led the design, implementation and sustainment efforts of an organization-wide interdisciplinary shared governance structure that was recognized as an exemplar in practice by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.  She has led Torrance Memorial Medical Center in California to their initial Magnet designation in 2011 via web-based submission as the Magnet Program Director. Maricarmen has helped many other organizations successfully submit their documents via a web-based submission as well.

Maricarmen has a proven track record in helping organizations achieve and sustain their objectives. She is a subject matter expert on ANCC’s Magnet® Recognition Program website submission process and staff engagement. She has experience in project development and management and effectively facilitates teams to incorporate reliability tools to design, implement and sustain practices to improve patient care. By focusing on facilitating a multidisciplinary approach to organization-wide shared decision making, Maricarmen has been successful in engaging employees from all professional disciplines on the Magnet Journey as well as engaging physician leaders in identifying and developing strategies and tools to improve the patient experience. She supports and enhances the Patient Experience through HCAHPS utilization and supports value-based purchasing initiatives.

Maricarmen received her Master’s of Science in Nursing Administration at Norwich University with a GPA of 4.0 and her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing at Regis University in Denver, CO with Magna Cum Laude. She brings a wide range of expert consulting services. Currently, Maricarmen works as the Director of the Magnet Recognition Program and Patient Experience at Torrance Memorial Medical Center in Torrance, California.
